Three veteran South Bay real estate agents made the bold move to join forces and commingle their 50+ years of experience and deep connections in the South Bay. The result? A powerhouse group of trusted advisors who offer guidance, solve problems and forge lasting bonds with clients.
Introducing the DeRenzis McGarry Real Estate Group of Vista Sotheby’s International Realty. Led by principal agents Darin DeRenzis, Meredith Johnson DeRenzis and Rob McGarry, this savvy team is reaching new levels of professional synergy. Drawing on the trio’s interwoven expertise, they assist clients with every aspect of ownership, investment and management. “Working together, we solve bigger problems with shared knowledge and creative ideas, and benefit clients with our deep industry relationships,” Meredith says.
“We recognized that we could better serve our clients by forming a team,” says Rob, who began his real estate career in 2002. “We provide a stronger continuity of service by working together toward the same goals.”
“Rob was already one of our most trusted advisors,” says Meredith. “Partnering with him is exciting because it elevates our ability to provide clients with the highest level of service.”
“My most trusted advisor always answers my call,” Rob says. “I know their advice is available, and they know when and how to give it.”
The group has a shared mindset when engaging with clients to deliver objective guidance. Their approach is rooted in conversations that promote clarity and uncover unknown obstacles. “We stand out because we advocate for our clients,” Meredith says.
The DeRenzis McGarry Group is relentless in its drive to help, and each of the partners saw the same quality in Amy Pearce, who joined the team this year. Amy worked for 20 years in sales and marketing before moving into the real estate industry and is an avid volunteer who serves on multiple boards and committees throughout the South Bay. She brings a passion for both real estate and helping others, plus strong negotiation and people skills.
“We recognized that we could better serve our clients by forming a team.”
“I joined this team because we get to consult with each other and share opinions and guidance—allowing each of us to do the best job possible for our clients,” says Amy. “When one of us is unavailable, the other team members are ready to fill in, so our clients are taken care of at all times.”
Even more impressive than the group’s copious professional skills and experience is their focus on building relationships with clients based on empathy, availability and helpfulness. “We have a very special job,” says Darin. “We assist our clients in long-term planning. We work closely with them as newlyweds, when babies come home from the hospital, kids head off to college and in the loss of their loved ones. Whenever our clients experience change, it affects how and where they live, and we are there to support them.”
Rob agrees: “Working in real estate affords us the privilege of being a part of our clients’ lives. It is the depth of our relationships that is most meaningful.”
The group, assisted by director of operations Rose Gavagan, stays abreast of local market trends and off-market opportunities. As Darin poignantly observes, “The last couple years brought extreme change to the South Bay real estate market. More transactions are occurring privately than ever before. To embrace that transition, we spend many hours each week networking with other Realtors and our clients looking for off-market opportunities—both investment and personal. In a world that is increasingly digital and technology-driven, it’s the grassroots effort that set us apart. Knowledge is power, and most of that knowledge is gained through constant communication within our network.”
