The Source Café is a woman-owned small business specializing in crafting organic food, drinks and treats. CEO/chef Amber Caudle and COO/pastry chef Cindy Van Pelt opened the café 10 years ago after decades of working in the culinary industry.

What are the benefits of having women in leadership?  

Amber: I believe women in leadership roles serve as inspiring role models for other women who are aspiring to achieve their goals. Women contribute valuable qualities such as strong communication, creativity, vulnerability, empathy and resilience. Additionally, their presence brings a unique feminine energy to industries traditionally dominated by males.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in business?

Cindy: Ours, like many others, has always been a primarily male-dominated industry. There has been a beautiful shift of women in all businesses not only reclaiming that power but changing the entire game. This new vision emphasizes permission to embrace our own warrior goddesses. A woman’s heart, empathy, intuition and nurturing spirit are redefining what it means to be a strong leader. 

What motivates you to go to work every day?  

Amber: I find my motivation in knowing that I’m making a difference in people’s lives through food. The transformative effect on people’s health—along with the heartfelt messages I receive about their well-being—bring me so much joy. Inspiring people to embrace change and create a wholesome connection with food and their bodies keeps my passion going. When life brings on challenging times, I always go back to my “why” and the impact I am making. 

Why are you considered a go-to resource in the community?

Cindy: The source of who we are is the core of what we do. We believe in the healing power of food. We believe that what you put in your body matters. Our mission is to provide the community with handcrafted organic drinks, dishes and treats to nourish your mind, body and soul with intention and integrity.
