Gino Stumpo is a managing director—wealth management, portfolio manager, financial advisor and wealth advisor at UBS Financial Services Inc. With over 25 years of industry experience, his career has focused on serving high-net-worth individuals and families, with a concentration in investments and retirement planning. Gino is a member of the Stumpo Sikorski Wealth Management team, which guides clients with personalized, tailored strategies designed to enhance financial well-being.

How did you fall in love with the industry?

I developed a natural interest in investments and decided to pursue a college degree in finance. I was already a member of the finance club when I attended an event featuring a guest speaker who was a financial advisor. I secured an internship at Salomon Smith Barney, a move that helped launch my career. After graduating, I joined PaineWebber, which was later acquired by UBS Financial Services Inc. Throughout this journey, my fascination with the industry has only grown, and I continue to find new reasons to love what I do.

What makes you stand out as a leader in your industry?

In the last decade, client communication has increasingly shifted to digital channels—whether by phone, email or emerging technologies. I believe in the power of in-person, face-to-face meetings and the value of human connection when discussing a client’s financial questions and concerns. My approach isn’t just about numbers; it’s about understanding a client’s story, their goals and what matters most to them. In addition to providing financial services, I enjoy hosting client appreciation events, dinners and informative seminars.

What is a unique feature of your practice?

My fellow financial advisor and team member Mark Sikorski served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and with the Los Angeles Police Department before transitioning into wealth management. Because of that background, our team has built long-standing relationships with first responders—including police officers and firefighters—helping them coordinate their investments with their retirement plans, pensions and other benefits.

Why did you pursue a career in finance?

My father spent decades working as an engineer before he was laid off in the early 1990s. To keep our family afloat, he took a part-time job at a hospital to cover the bills and make ends meet. As the eldest child, watching him navigate uncertainty—and thinking about what retirement would look like—left a lasting impression on me. That experience inspired me to pursue a career in finance and ultimately specialize in retirement planning so I can help clients make confident decisions about their benefits and move into the next stage of life with greater clarity. I am incredibly proud of the work I do.

Tell us something about yourself that others may not know.

For the past two years, I have practiced Brazilian jiu-jitsu and have competed in several tournaments. I also enjoy volunteering with special needs children through my church and sponsoring local charities. I live in Newport Coast with my wife, Ana Maria; our three children, Gianna, Nicco and Lucca; and our lovable goldendoodle, Bentley.
