Business Growth
In the early days, my clients were young families that needed room to grow. We would design homes with that in mind. Now we are redesigning those homes because 20 years later, they are empty nesters, which is fun and rewarding! We often re-imagine children’s rooms into yoga or art studios, or anything they want to dream up.
I design for clients at all stages of life. Trends have changed, and I’m constantly learning about what’s new, innovative, stylish and functional. Because of my experience, I am now able to handle many more clients than I could in the beginning—with the same level of service—which has helped my business grow. Also, the jobs are bigger now, with major remodels and ground-up builds.
Client Appreciation
Our clients are incredibly loyal to us. They love our unique design, quality of work, depth of knowledge, staying cool under pressure, problem-solving and our sources. The honesty and integrity we bring to the work have remained constant over the years, along with the fun! And clients really appreciate that they have direct access to me. I’m extremely committed to my clients when I take on a job.
Lesson Learned
I have learned over the years to be very loyal to my sources and contractors. In the 30 years I’ve been in business, I have found that unexpected things still happen, and hard times come. So being loyal to the people I’ve done business with over the years allows them to support my clients and me when we need it. The people we work with follow through and show up when they say—that’s something!
On the Horizon
We are working on several large-scale projects, all different—from Modern to Old-World Spanish to California Beach. The diversity of the work really excites me and keeps it interesting.

New & Exciting
I have been using AI as a tool for my clients. For example, we can take a picture of a bathroom and plug it into AI with the wallpaper, slab, lighting and tile, so the client can make real-time decisions. It’s one of the ways AI has been revolutionary and very exciting for our industry.
Southbay Love
The photo above was among the first we ever shot with Southbay. This was the magazine’s first profiles section, and we were one of the first advertisers to sign on to the concept. We loved the idea of telling a story in an ad—and we’ve been advertising with Southbay every year since!
