Do you provide educational resources or workshops to empower your clients?

I periodically host in-person workshops to educate individuals on important topics, such as retirement planning, estate planning strategies, etc. I also use resources such as white papers, infographics and research to educate clients on complex concepts. Whether sharing this information through social media, one-on-one meetings or in-person events, I strive to educate and nurture financial understanding.

Share your favorite piece of wisdom using a quote.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” – Benjamin Franklin

This quote resonates with me because it aligns with the importance of constructing a financial plan. The importance of creating a well-thought-out financial road map cannot be overstated, as it’s key to achieving economic success. Financial planning is a lot like preparing for a road trip—you wouldn’t just jump in your car and start driving without a plan. Both situations require preparation, careful planning and clear communication to ensure you reach your destination.

What makes you stand out as a leader in your industry?

In a world increasingly dominated by digital interactions, I believe in the power of in-person meetings. I recognize the value of human connection in discussing a client’s financial aspirations and concerns. My approach is not just about numbers; it’s about understanding your life, dreams and aspirations, forming the bedrock of a financial plan that aligns with your family’s financial needs.

What’s your advice for younger clients?

The best piece of advice I can give is to start early. Step one is understanding your finances and educating yourself. Then you can focus on how you can allocate a portion of your income for investing. It’s important to have a long-term perspective of your finances to recognize where you want to be in the future.

Having worked with UBS for nearly 25 years, what makes you so loyal?

My clients’ needs are always my top priority. UBS has been providing products and services for individuals for over 160 years and has been entrusted with over $5 trillion in client assets. This is very telling.

How did you fall in love with this industry?

I developed a passion for the finance industry during my college years as a finance major. I always had a natural interest in investments, but joining the finance club transformed that interest into a passion. It was there that a guest lecture by a financial advisor showcased the range of opportunities in the field. Soon after, I secured an internship at Saloman Smith Barney, a move that launched my career. After graduating I joined PaineWebber, which was later acquired by UBS. Throughout this journey my fascination with the industry has only grown, and I find new reasons to love what I do every day.

Tell us something unique about yourself that others may not know.

With a busy work schedule, I make sure to take time for myself and participate in activities I enjoy. Over the past year, I’ve taken part in Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments and have taught my sons the art of the sport. I’ve also enjoyed volunteering with special needs children through my church because engaging in charitable and community-oriented events holds a special place in my heart.
