South Bay Rotary Clubs

Rotary International was founded in 1905 to provide a place for professionals to exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. While the organization was only for men when it started, women were welcomed into membership in 1989 and today lead Rotary Clubs around the globe.     

Six of the seven 2023–2024 South Bay Rotary Club presidents are women. They are accomplished CEOs, entrepreneurs and executives who have a combined 93+ years of Rotary service, exemplifying the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.”

What inspired you to join Rotary?

Wanting to make an impact locally and internationally. It is our duty to selflessly give back and make a difference while connecting with like-minded changemakers.

What are the benefits of having women leading Rotary clubs?

Having women in Rotary leadership roles reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. Women are people of action. When we see a need, we get it done. We bring people together, promote collaboration, and provide an important viewpoint on local and global topics.

What is your favorite Rotary moment?

The humanitarian projects are life-changing. Working trips to Peru, Columbia and Africa. Playing with orphaned children in the Dominican Republic and seeing their smiles. Fitting underserved children with shoes or eyeglasses, reading to curious minds. The hugs and sparkle in their eyes fill your heart and soul.
