Keith & Miles at their first photo shoot for Southbay HOME magazine, 2012

The Early Days

Miles Pritzkat had spent 24 years at another local architectural firm, five of those years working alongside Keith Johnson, when we launched our firm in 2005. We were never driven by a desire to become the largest architectural practice in the South Bay. Instead, we set out to create a boutique studio dedicated to clients who value thoughtful, high-quality design. Whether we are transforming an existing home through a modest remodel and addition or designing a custom residence from the ground up, our commitment remains the same: to deliver architecture that is carefully crafted, highly personalized, and has a timeless appeal.

Growth and Longevity

Our growth has been largely organic, built on trust, reputation and the value of good design. That allows us to build lasting relationships with clients, many of whom return for additional projects or refer us to family and friends. Over the years, those relationships—combined with a passion for thoughtful architecture and a dedicated team—have been the foundation of our continued success.

Client Appreciation

Clients often tell us they value our collaborative approach and our ability to listen. We take the time to understand how people live and what matters most to them, resulting in homes that feel personal, timeless and uniquely their own. Whether it’s a modest renovation or a custom home, we bring the same creativity, attention to detail and dedication to creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional—regardless of project size.

Community Progression

In the past 21 years since we started our firm, we have seen an increased awareness of the unique beauty and quality of life in the South Bay by both longtime residents and newcomers. This, coupled with a greater appreciation of custom design, has led to a steady influx of great projects and wonderful clients. And each completed project enhances not only the lives our clients, but also the design environment of neighborhoods, communities and cities.

Southbay Magazine Love

When we launched our own practice, we were focused on growing our presence and connecting with more homeowners throughout the South Bay. Southbay magazine was instrumental in helping us achieve that goal. We were introduced to the magazine by Jared Sayers, the associate publisher at the time, through a builder we often work with. His enthusiasm for showcasing great local design was contagious, and it immediately resonated with us. That first meeting gave us the opportunity to be featured alongside many of the established architects and designers in our community. When Southbay HOME launched, we recognized it as a perfect fit and were excited to be involved with it from the start.
