Cartwheelin’ Cuties® offers small-group studio classes, private and semi-private instruction, mobile gymnastics programs, school enrichment, adaptive gymnastics, camps, clinics and special events for children of all ages and abilities. Paige Negrete founded the business in 2020 as South Bay Sprouts, initially taking mobile gymnastics instruction directly to families throughout the community. Since then, Cartwheelin’ Cuties® has grown to include a vibrant Redondo Beach studio and programs offered through schools, community partners, and parks and recreation departments.
Tell us about your family and team.
We are over the moon to be welcoming our first baby, a little boy, this December! The journey toward motherhood has deepened both my purpose and my vision for Cartwheelin’ Cuties®. This season is also creating space for my incredible team to step into greater leadership and help shape the next chapter of the community we are building together.
How do you stand out in your market?
Our playful, small-batch approach allows every child to receive meaningful attention, encouragement and instruction tailored to who they are. We take gymnastics seriously without taking the joy out of it, creating a community where children of all abilities can feel safe, celebrated and wonderfully themselves while they move, grow and belong. We give them room to discover just how capable they are, one brave try and celebrated cartwheel at a time.
What is your current passion project?
Inspired by my own tiny Cartwheelin’ Cutie arriving soon, I’m expanding our program to support families from the very beginning. This year, we plan to introduce thoughtful programming for expecting families, postpartum moms, new parents and babies from newborn to age 2½—creating beautiful opportunities for movement, connection and community.
When people tell the story of your business, what do you hope they’ll say?
I hope they’ll say Cartwheelin’ Cuties® changed the way their family experienced children’s movement and showed them that high-quality instruction can also be personal, inclusive and full of heart. Most of all, I hope generations of families remember it as a community where they felt known and supported.
