How does authenticity play into your business model?

Being my authentic self and having a great bedside manner is imperative in my practice. Many of my patients come to me having been dismissed by their doctors and told their symptoms are just part of aging. Being a sympathetic listener and validating each patient’s experience is key to building a strong doctor-patient relationship and creating trust.

What keeps you going on difficult days?

Running a medical practice independently has its hard days. What keeps me going is the positive impact I make in my patients’ lives. Hearing them tell me they feel like themselves again, that they’re enjoying life, sleeping through the night and have the energy to get through their day—that’s what sustains me on the difficult days.

What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

When I started experiencing perimenopause symptoms in my early 40s, I couldn’t find the medical help I needed here in the South Bay. That gap in care inspired me to train in hormone replacement therapy and start my own patient-centered practice, with hour-long visits dedicated to each woman’s specific needs. I work with my patients to meet them where they are, making sure they feel heard and their needs are addressed.

What strategies have you found most effective in growing your business?

Word of mouth and patient referrals have been powerful tools for growing my practice. I’ve also found small-group Q&A sessions to be valuable, along with local advertising a few times a year to reach new faces and remind others of my practice.
