At this time of necessary isolation and business closings, many of us are missing our favorite retail and dining establishments. We are taking care of ourselves and our community by staying at home, but frankly it’s getting a little … old!

And that’s where The Point in El Segundo steps in. This local shopping and dining destination has been a favorite locale for South Bay families since opening in 2015 at the corner of Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard. While they look forward to welcoming customers back for a unique shopping, dining and meeting experience when they can safely do so, some of the stores and restaurants are making options available now—amidst the statewide stay-at-home order that took effect March 19.

While restaurants can’t currently serve customers in their dining areas, several eateries at The Point are offering menu items and extras for pickup or delivery. When you place your order, you’re helping a local business stay open and continue to pay their team members. But picking up a delicious meal to take home to the family also means one less dinner dilemma for you in the kitchen! Check out what these restaurants have to offer, and be sure to call them for updated hours of business.

North Italia (310-469-7695) has a limited menu available for to-go ordering or delivery through DoorDash.

Mendocino Farms (424-218-4400) offers contactless pickup for online and phone orders, as well as third-party delivery and catering.

Tocaya Organica (424-352-0876) is offering catering and takeout of menu items and meal prep packages.

Pressed Juicery (310-364-1260) has items available for phone or online orders, with delivery available.

Hopdaddy Burger Bar (310-414-2337) is making handmade burgers, fresh-cut fries, beer and boozy drinks, meal kits and more for curbside pickup or delivery.

True Food Kitchen (310-469-7725) offers a limited menu of freshly prepared healthy meals, bottles of wine and canned beer for no-contact pickup and delivery.

The health and wellness of the community and of team members is a top priority for The Point. In addition to diligently monitor- ing updates surrounding COVID-19 and strictly adhering to recommended guide- lines from federal, state and local authorities, the shopping center’s individual stores are doing their part to help their neighbors during this pandemic.

For instance, the Kendra Scott team is helping support those on the front lines by sewing masks to distribute to local hospitals and clinics. And for every burger purchased, Hopdoddy Burger Bar donates one burger to health care professionals who are working diligently to care for all of us. Not in the mood for a burger yourself? They also have a button on their website where you can donate a burger to show your support.

Need help filling the hours with something other than video games for your kids? Children’s store Rabbit Ladders has created Joy Boxes complete with crafts, puzzles and games. They are available for delivery and curbside pickup and can be shipped anywhere—a great gift from the grandparents! The Rabbit Ladders team is available for FaceTime and phone appointments to customize your purchase (310-726-9688).

With kids stuck at home and schools closed, The Point is helping ease quarantine boredom with a series of virtual events. The popular outdoor Kids Club will host cyber jams for kids of all ages, with hopes of inspiring and entertaining one another during this crisis. These began on April 16 with a live cyber jam hosted by The BeatBuds on The Point’s Instagram page, @thepoint_sb.

One lucky fan who posted the virtual Kids Club flyer and tagged The Point on Instagram won a $100 gift card to Rabbit Ladders during the event. The Kids Club will continue to host free Instagram Live takeovers until it is safe to bring the community back together in person again, so be sure to check out The Point’s social media to learn about the next event.

The Point is comprised of local and regional retailers, popular eateries, an exclusive fitness studio and an expansive outdoor plaza. Unique shops and restaurants including Mendocino Farms, Lil Simmzy’s, Tocaya Organica, True Food Kitchen and more. A variety of active, fashion-fueled shops include Athleta, prAna and lululemon. Hot street styles from top brands can be found at Planet Blue, No Rest For Bridget, Lucky Brand and Madewell, to name a few.

The Point offers a variety of events for the community, including classes held inside stores and pop-up public events happening throughout the property. Check their website for upcoming activities once they are able to fully reopen. In the meantime, thanks to The Point we can all stay safe, well-fed and entertained in the comfort of our own homes!
