What inspired you to pursue a career in real estate?

Gayle Probst: I jumped into real estate because I wanted to do good for others, and I wanted a job where I could make a difference. Helping people with the most important financial and emotional decision perhaps of their life has been wonderful, but not without stumbling blocks. In almost 1,000 transactions, I have learned that we all need support. I was just told by a seller that I am their “security blanket.” What a great compliment!

Kelly Evans: Watching my single mother build a successful career in real estate in the 1970s and ’80s profoundly influenced my decision to follow in her footsteps. Times were different then, but she made it work—ultimately earning real estate licenses in three states: Pennsylvania, Florida and California. Her determination and “can-do” spirit became part of my own foundation and continue to inspire me today.

Jaime Eckerle Collins: Real estate is more than a career to me; it’s part of my family’s story. As a third-generation Realtor® licensed for 27 years, I feel especially grateful to have raised my children in the South Bay and to serve the community I truly love. My approach is simple: Put my clients first, build genuine relationships and help people put down roots in a community I’m proud to call home.

Clara Baum: I love serving people through one of life’s biggest decisions, and I’ve made that decision myself. We own and manage our own real estate portfolio, so I know how it feels from the client’s chair—a perspective that put me in the top 5% of agents at my company. The South Bay isn’t just my market; it’s my home. There’s no greater honor than being trusted and being of service.

Speak about the importance of community.

Cindy Kawata: Community has been at the heart of my 25-year real estate journey. My business has grown through relationships, referrals and the trust of people who have welcomed me into their lives. I believe true success is about more than transactions. It is about being present, giving back, helping others and building lasting connections. The relationships I’ve built over the years and the clients who have become like my family make this career so meaningful to me.

Melissa McLean Sidell: My business has grown through relationships, referrals and staying deeply connected to the communities I serve. After more than 25 years in real estate, I remain active by combining local market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, thoughtful strategy and personal service. I believe consistency matters in business and in life. Showing up, staying informed and taking care of people keeps relationships strong and business moving forward.

What belief have you completely changed your mind about?

Tiffany Kawata: Early in my career, I thought success was defined by the number of homes I sold. After 12 years in real estate, I have learned that true success comes from earning my clients’ trust, understanding their needs, advocating for them and being there long after closing. Repeat clients and referrals have shown me that this business is ultimately built on lasting relationships and genuine care.

What strategies are effective in growing your business?

Becky Davidson: The biggest strategy has been becoming deeply connected to the community I serve. I’ve focused on being known as a true local expert by building genuine relationships with neighbors, local businesses and past clients. Referrals and repeat business have been key. Most importantly, I’ve learned that consistency matters—showing up, providing value and staying connected year after year.
