After graduating from American Martyrs and Mira Costa, Nick Burdiak played on the Division 1 water polo team at UC Irvine. He worked in the financial sector, then joined Vista Sotheby’s in 2016 and learned about the industry from his mentor and father-in-law, Chris Adlam, co-owner of Vista. Nick lived in Manhattan Beach for most of his life but now lives in Palos Verdes Estates with his wife and their two young children.

What makes you stand out?

How much I enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life. I don’t look at clients as just transactions—I take the time to build real relationships, and a lot of those turn into genuine friendships. I love collaborating with clients and other agents, and that’s opened the door to some great off-market opportunities and referrals. I’m all about community, good conversations, and making the whole experience as personal and positive as possible.

How well do you know the area?

I can’t imagine many people knowing it better! My parents and brothers live in the Beach Cities, so this community is connected to both my personal and professional life. I’ve lived and breathed every part of the area, from Junior Guards at Marine Street to hunting down the best breakfast burrito in the area (not naming any names here). I truly understand what makes every corner of the South Bay so special—giving me a unique edge in helping clients navigate the market with confidence.

Does your family support your work?

I married into a family deeply rooted in real estate. In addition to Chris, I also work with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. My wife says she can handle the late nights and weekend hours of my work because she grew up around it and understands how important it is to be there for clients. Real estate doesn’t follow a 9-to-5 schedule, and I pride myself on being available when my clients need me most.

How would you describe your approach?

Being adaptable and staying in tune with each client’s unique needs. I’ve worked with everyone from first-time buyers to experienced sellers, and no two situations are the same. It comes down to clear, honest communication—listening closely, staying responsive and making sure clients feel supported every step of the way.
