Strategic View Advisors is a financial planning team, led by CEO Edward Moyzes, that operates under the umbrella of the Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group. Northwestern Mutual has been in business for the past 169 years.


What’s something about your job that people would find surprising?

Most people assume financial advisors spend their days staring at spreadsheets and tracking markets. In reality, our work is fundamentally about people—understanding what matters most to them and building a plan that reflects that. The best moments are not tied to market highs but to hearing a client say they finally feel at ease.


How is technology changing the way you serve clients?

You cannot automate trust, and you cannot automate peace of mind. Technology is a tool, not the solution. It enables our team to move faster on the operational side and focus on the relationships and strategic thinking that shape outcomes.


What’s a quiet “win” in your work that wouldn’t show up on a balance sheet?

When a client takes a big vacation during a down market because they trust their plan completely, that says everything. It is a sign they are not reacting to noise. They are making decisions from a place of confidence.


What first drew you to financial advising, and what keeps you passionate about it?

Money is one of the most significant sources of stress, and most of that stress is unnecessary with the right guidance. The opportunity to help people feel more confident, prepared and secure is what drew us to this work in the first place, and it is still what drives us today. Partnering with clients to Achieve Financial Peace of MindTM is not just the mission; it is the reason we show up every day.


What’s something unique about advising clients in the South Bay?

Housing plays an outsized role in financial planning here in a way that feels distinct to the South Bay. It is an incredible place to live, but that comes with higher home values and greater long-term planning considerations. A meaningful part of the work is helping clients make sure the home they love supports their future rather than limiting it.


What’s most rewarding about your work?

Partnering with clients to Achieve Financial Peace of MindTM is what this work is all about. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone move through major life decisions with confidence because they know their plan is built to support them. That sense of clarity and security is the outcome we are always working toward.


What misconceptions do people often have about working with a financial advisor?

The misconception that it has to feel complicated. It does not. A good plan should create clarity, not confusion, and leave people feeling more confident.


What do you enjoy most about the South Bay?

The weather, the beach, the schools, the food. It is an incredible and unique community within the larger Los Angeles landscape, and we are proud to be part of it.


In what ways do you give back locally or otherwise?

Our mission statement includes the goal to “transform the communities in which we live,” which we are able to accomplish through our philanthropic group, SVA CARES. Each quarter, SVA CARES organizes or participates in causes that are important to the team on a personal level. A few examples of past events include picking up trash at the local beach, volunteering at the local animal shelter and fundraising/walking in the Beach Cities’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
