What is unique about your style and technique?
“Our approach to foot care is to provide relief of pain and/or deformity in the least invasive ways possible. We concentrate on offering the most up-to-date non-invasive or minimally invasive treatment options available. We strive to stay current with the latest techniques available in podiatric medicine and surgery.”
Tell us about the staff at your practice.
“Our staff members have been with the practice for many years and contribute to the caring and personal environment of the practice. Our office prides itself on a very low staff turnover rate because it is a friendly and caring place to work. Staff receive frequent accolades from patients and their families about how caring and friendly they are. Patients are amazed at how little wait time there is in a busy four doctor practice. The office understands that patients’ time is also very valuable.”
How do you educate your patients to take good care of themselves?
“We emphasize patient education first. We encourage our patients to have a thorough understanding of their foot and ankle condition and how it affects their overall health. We provide in-depth literature and online information regarding each condition we are treating. Many conditions we see are caused in part by a patient’s other medical conditions, and we attempt to steer them to all necessary specialties when a whole-body approach is necessary.”
What does the future hold for your practice?
“The future is bright for our podiatry practice. We are well-positioned to help out an active and ever-aging population that is focused on living healthier, longer lives. Much of this is centered around a good diet and exercise regimens. With regular exercise, sometimes a bit more extreme, lower extremity and especially foot and ankle injuries can occur. Bay Harbor Podiatry Group offers the best state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment approach to care for this dynamic population.”
We are a center for excellence in foot and ankle care and a cut above the competition. We use state-of-the-art techniques and the latest technology available to provide the fastest recovery after surgery and injury, including Ped-Align custom foot orthotic fabrication. We are focused on patient wellness in the least invasive ways possible. We have many in-office advanced technologies including Shockwave, Cutera, MLS, and Luxar Lasers not available elsewhere in the entire South Bay.
To see if surgical correction is the best treatment option for a problem, there’s no better resource than the team of doctors at Bay Harbor Podiatry Group (BHPG). Patients who choose the path to better health couldn’t have done it without making that first appointment. Our doctors all recognize that surgery is not always necessary, and we make sure patients are well-educated about all their options before taking that step.
In December 2003, the practice moved to its current location, in the beautiful Pacific Center building in the heart of Torrance just west of the Torrance Marriott. We are located comfortably between the two major hospitals, just north of the new Del Amo Fashion Center. We have now grown into a four-doctor, board-certified practice. In practice for more than 31 years, Dr. Mittleman is a national consultant and lecturer for several of the new technologies his office features.
